René Harrop's renowned cripple for selective trout on technical spring creeks and tailwaters. Imitates a mayfly hopelessly stuck in its shuck during a Blue-Winged Olive emergence. Combines a sparse trailing shuck, slim dubbed abdomen, upright CDC wing, and a few turns of hackle to ride flush in the film.
1. Lay a thin Olive Thread base to the bend.
2. Tie in a sparse Z-Lon trailing shuck.
3. Dub a very slim Olive Dubbing abdomen over the rear half.
4. Tie in an upright Dun CDC wing.
5. Wrap a few sparse turns of Dun Hackle; trim the bottom fibers flush.
6. Dub a small thorax, whip finish, head cement.
