Imitates an emerging Pale Morning Dun, a key Western summer hatch. A folded loop of CDC over the thorax mimics the crumpled, still-unfurling wing of an insect breaking the film. The pale yellow body and low profile make it deadly in slower runs and flats.
1. Lay a Yellow Thread base to the bend.
2. Tie in a short Z-Lon trailing shuck.
3. Dub a slender Sulfur Yellow Dubbing abdomen over the rear two-thirds.
4. Fold a Dun CDC feather forward and back over the thorax to form a raised loop wing.
5. Build a fuller thorax under and around the loop.
6. Whip finish, head cement.
