Imitates an olive mayfly nymph transforming at the surface film, a vulnerable stage trout target during Baetis and other olive hatches. A slim olive body suggests the abdomen; a wisp of CDC at the head traps air and represents emerging wings and legs. Fish in or just under the film.
1. Start the Olive Thread on the curved shank to the bend.
2. Tie in a few Pheasant Tail Fibers for a short tail.
3. Tie in Gold wire, fine for the rib.
4. Dub a slim, tapered Olive Dubbing abdomen to two-thirds.
5. Counter-rib with 4-5 open turns of wire; tie off and break off.
6. Tie in a small Olive CDC puff as an emerging wing; dub a fuller thorax; whip finish.
