Imitates the tiny Tricorythodes mayfly, whose dense late-summer morning spinner falls produce hours of selective surface feeding on tailwaters and spring creeks. Tied small with a black body and white spent or upright wing to represent the dun or female spinner.
1. Lay a thin base of Black Thread.
2. Split 2-3 Microfibetts, dun as a widely divided tail at the bend.
3. Build a slender abdomen with the thread or a touch of Black Dubbing.
4. Tie in white Poly Yarn and figure-eight flat as spent wings (or post upright for the dun).
5. Dub a small dark thorax of Black Dubbing around the wings.
6. Whip finish a tiny head, cement.
