The thorax style applied to the sulphur hatch. Clipping the bottom hackle fibers lets this fly sit naturally flat in the film during evening sulphur hatches when trout are inspecting every fly that drifts over them.
1. Thread base — Attach yellow thread behind the eye and build a base to the bend.
2. Tail — Tie in a sparse bunch of dun hackle fibers at the bend and split into a V-tail.
3. Wings — At the midpoint, tie in two matched dun hackle tips upright and divided.
4. Body — Dub a slim sulfur yellow body from the bend through the wing base.
5. Hackle — Tie in a dun hackle at the midpoint. Wind 2 turns behind and 2 turns in front of the wings.
6. Head & clip — Build a tiny head, whip finish, apply head cement. Clip all hackle fibers from directly below the hook shank.
