1. Thread base — Attach cream thread and wrap to the bend.
2. Tail — Tie in stiff ginger hackle fibers, one hook-gap long.
3. Wings — At the 2/3 point, tie in two sections of barred mallard flank upright and divided with figure-eights.
4. Body — Dub a smooth cream body — light red fox belly classic — to behind the wings.
5. Hackle — Tie in one ginger and one grizzly hackle. Wind both, interleaved, 2 turns behind and 2 in front of the wings. Tie off.
6. Head — Small neat head, whip finish, cement.
