Mr. Rapidan

1. Thread base — Attach tan thread behind the eye and lay a base to the bend.

2. Wings — At the 2/3 point, tie in a bunch of white calf body hair upright and divide with figure-eight wraps. Wings should reach roughly to the hook point.

3. Tail — Tie in a sparse bunch of brown hackle fibers at the bend, one hook-gap in length.

4. Body — Dub a neat, smoothly tapered yellow body from the bend forward to just behind the wing base.

5. Hackle — Tie in one brown and one grizzly hackle behind the wings. Wind both through the thorax area, interleaving wraps. Tie off and trim behind the eye.

6. Head — Build a small head. Whip finish and apply head cement.
