1. Thread base — Attach black thread and wrap to the bend.
2. Tail — Tie in a small bunch of golden pheasant tippet fibers.
3. Rear body — Wind 2 peacock herls to the 1/3 point. Tie off.
4. Band — Wrap red floss over the middle third. Tie off.
5. Front body — Wind 2 more peacock herls to the 3/4 point.
6. Wing — Tie in a bunch of white calf tail as a down-wing over the body, tips to the end of the tail.
7. Hackle — Wind a coachman brown hackle 3–4 turns in front of the wing. Tie off.
8. Head — Neat head, whip finish, cement.
