The parachute version of the Yellow Sally dry sits flush and is far easier to track than the standard low-hackle version. The white poly post provides visibility without changing the silhouette that trout key on during Little Yellow Sally hatches.
1. Thread base — Attach yellow thread behind the eye and build a base to the bend.
2. Post — At the 1/3 point, tie in a small bunch of white poly yarn upright. Build tight wraps around the base.
3. Tail — Tie in a sparse bunch of ginger hackle fibers at the bend.
4. Body — Dub a slim, tapered sulfur yellow body from the bend to the post base.
5. Hackle — Tie in a ginger hackle at the base of the post. Wind 4–5 parachute turns descending. Tie off at the base.
6. Head — Build a small head in front of the post. Whip finish and apply head cement.
