Lance Egan's flashy attractor nymph — a wrapped pearl-flash body, pheasant-tail whisks, and a hotspot of rainbow-blend dubbing under a silver bead. It imitates nothing and out-fishes nearly everything, particularly on pressured tailwaters where fish have seen every natural.
1. Bead — Slide a silver tungsten bead to the eye of a scud hook.
2. Thread base — Attach red thread behind the bead and wrap to the bend.
3. Tail — Tie in 4–6 pheasant tail fibers, half a shank long.
4. Body — Tie in 2–3 strands of pearl Flashabou. Wrap forward as a smooth flash body to behind the bead. Tie off.
5. Wing case — Pull the Flashabou remnants over the top of the thorax area later, or simply leave the body bright.
6. Thorax — Dub a band of rainbow sowbug-blend (pinkish multitone) behind the bead.
7. Finish — A turn of red thread showing as a hot collar; whip finish and cement.
