The mid-Atlantic's egg cluster — rows of soft yarn loops suggesting a drifting clump of sucker eggs. Born in Pennsylvania steelhead country and equally at home on Appalachian trout streams every spring when the suckers run gravel. Cream and orange, dead-drifted on the bottom.
1. Thread base — Attach thread and wrap to the bend.
2. Yarn — Tie in two strands of cream egg yarn (angora traditional) at the bend.
3. Loops — Double the yarn into a small loop and bind it on top of the shank. Advance the thread a wrap and repeat — a ladder of 5–7 loops climbing the shank, each about gap-height.
4. Finish — Tie off the yarn behind the eye, whip finish, and cement.
